Aim of the GWO Basic Safety Training Course

The GWO Basic Safety Training Course aims to equip participants with the core knowledge and skills necessary to work safely within the wind energy sector. The training covers essential modules such as First Aid training for wind industry workers, Working at Heights training for wind turbines, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling, and Sea Survival training for offshore wind farms. After completing the course, participants will be capable of responding effectively to emergencies and performing tasks safely and efficiently in wind farm operations.

Requirements for GWO Basic Safety Training Course

• Participants must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess adequate physical fitness to safely perform all practical exercises.
• No previous experience is necessary, as the course is suitable for all levels of experience and backgrounds.

Duración del curso

Duration of the GWO Basic Safety Training Course

• Initial Training: 4 days

• Refresher Training: 3 days

The course duration includes both theoretical instruction and practical exercises.

Certificación y Validez

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive:

• Official Digital GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) Certificate

• Certification valid for 2 years, which can be renewed through a GWO refresher training course

The certification is widely recognized across the wind energy industry, demonstrating that participants have the necessary safety knowledge and practical skills to operate safely in both onshore and offshore wind farm environments. Contenido del curso

First Aid
Training to recognize life-threatening situations and administer effective first aid in wind turbine environments, ensuring participants can respond quickly and prevent further injury until professional medical help arrives.

Manual Handling
Training focused on reducing the risk of musculoskeletal injuries by teaching participants how to safely perform tasks involving manual handling of loads in wind energy environments.

Fire Awareness
This module teaches participants how to prevent fires, assess risk situations, and effectively manage personnel evacuations. It also includes basic training on the use of fire extinguishing equipment.

Working at Heights
A course covering the use of basic personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety practices when working at heights. This module also includes basic rescue training in wind turbine environments.
