¿A quién está dirigido?

This ITRA Direct Entry Training is designed for experienced technical rescuers who:

• Possess advanced rope rescue skills through prior certifications, significant field experience, or equivalent instruction.

• Have not completed ITRA Levels 1 and 2 but seek to achieve the ITRA Level 3 certification via direct assessment.

• Work in fire services, industrial rescue teams, emergency response, civil protection, NGOs, or professional rescue units.

What You’ll Learn in the ITRA Direct Entry Training Level 3

This intensive training enables participants to:

• Lead high-risk and complex rope rescues.

• Master horizontal rescue systems such as zip lines, highlines, and tensioned systems.

• Execute advanced maneuvers in suspended or hard-to-access environments.

Requisitos del curso

To qualify for this ITRA Direct Entry Training, you must:

• Have substantial experience in technical rope rescue operations.

• Be at least 18 years old and in good physical condition.

• Demonstrate full theoretical and practical competence across ITRA Levels 1, 2, and 3 during the final assessment.

• Completion of prior ITRA courses is not required.

Duración del curso

• Training duration: 5 days of intensive rescue instruction.

• Assessment: 1 official evaluation day conducted by an independent ITRA-certified evaluator.

Certificación y Validez

• Certification awarded: ITRA Level 3 Rope Rescue Technician.

• Certification is valid for 3 years and registered in the ITRA Global Database, accessible by employers and rescue agencies worldwide.

All theory modules from ITRA Level 1, Level 2,  Level 3 are delivered intensively. You will train on:

This combined training ensures you master the full range of skills required for all levels in an accelerated format, perfect for candidates with previous rope rescue experience. You will master:

• Construction and operation of horizontal systems, including guiding lines, tyroleans, and Reeve systems.
• Execution of complex horizontal traverses, using highlines configured as Transport, English Reeve, or Norwegian Reeve systems.
• Performance of cross-haul rescues.
• Execution of suspended victim pick-off rescues.
• On-rope line transfer between ropes.
• On-rope re-anchoring during ascent or descent.
• Use of advanced artificial high directional systems in complex structural or terrain configurations.
• Execution of rescues in environments with zero visibility or beyond line-of-sight.
• Implementation of offset or diagonal guiding lines.
• Techniques for breaking into a loaded fixed rope system.
• Adaptation and application of dynamic, team-based litter rescues in evolving or unstable scenarios.
