The Basic Rope Access course is designed for:

Technicians and professionals who want to begin their career in industrial rope access or strengthen their skills in safe positioning techniques. This course is suitable for:

• Technicians entering the height work sector.

• Professionals in construction, maintenance, or industrial services who need rope access certification.

• Individuals seeking to expand their job opportunities in Spain and abroad in the work at heights industry.

Objetivo

The main goal of this rope access training is to provide participants with the fundamental knowledge and skills to perform rope access safely and efficiently. During the course, students will learn:

• Proper use and inspection of personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Ascending, descending, and progression techniques on ropes.

• Basic rescue maneuvers in case of emergencies.

• National legislation and safety procedures under RD 2177/2004.

• Risk prevention methods to ensure safety in industrial environments.

Requisitos del curso

To participate in the Basic Rope Access course, candidates must:

• Be at least 18 years old.

• Have good physical condition suitable for rope access activities.

• No prior experience is required.

Duración del curso

The basic training in rope access, according to the regulation RD 2177/2004, has a duration of 24 hours spread over three consecutive days.

Certificación y Validez

Participants who successfully complete the training will obtain a rope access certification valid for 3 years.
This certification is recognized under RD 2177/2004, the Spanish regulation for minimum safety and health requirements in rope access.

Contenido del curso

Teoría

• RD 2177/2004: Minimum safety and health provisions for rope access.
• Review of personal protective equipment (PPE): ropes, slings, carabiners, etc.
• Work procedures and rescue techniques.

Práctica

• Review and use of PPE.
• Ascend and descend techniques with descending and ascending devices like Croll.
• Rope changes, knot passing, redirects, and short rigging.
• Movement on horizontal structures and use of protectors on ropes at 90 degrees.
• Victim rescue techniques using pulley systems and descenders.
